The weather around Taiwan is expected to remain wet until next week due to moisture brought by a stagnant weather front, the Central Weather Bureau (CWB) said Friday.
The front, which formed over waters north of Taiwan Thursday, began to influence Taiwan's weather Friday, with heavy rain likely in Yilan, Hualien and mountainous areas around Taiwan, the bureau said.
With increased clouds and rain, temperatures around Taiwan on Friday are forecast to drop to 30 degrees to 31 degrees Celsius during the day and 25 degrees to 26 degrees at night and in the early morning, according to the CWB.
Although rainfall may ease Saturday and Sunday, thundershowers are expected in parts of Taiwan's west coast, the bureau said.
There will still be ample moisture over Taiwan between next Monday and Thursday, it said.
