A sedan crashed into an electric pole, knocking down more than 10 poles.

A sedan lost control and crashed into more than 10 electric poles, knocking them down in Soi Lat Phrao 48, Intersection 6. Residents are suffering from a power outage and cannot enter or exit the alley. Police are investigating the driver to find the cause. At 06.00 on October 6, 2014, Pol. Lt. Sathien Phimthong, Deputy Inspector (Investigation), Suthisan Police Station, received a report of a car crashing into an electric pole, causing damage, in Soi Lat Phrao 48, Intersection 6, Samsen Nok Subdistrict, Huai Khwang District, Bangkok. He therefore rushed to inspect the scene and coordinated with the Metropolitan Electricity Authority and volunteers from the Ruamkatanyu Foundation. At the scene, a white Honda City was found with its front end badly damaged. It had crashed into an electric pole, knocking it down and resting on the roof of the car. An inspection of the area revealed more than 10 electric poles knocked down and blocking the alley, making it impossible to enter or exit. The Metropolitan Electri city Authority therefore temporarily cut off the power. The driver, identified as Mr. Ahsan, aged 28, was in a state of disorientation and sustained minor injuries. Officers provided first aid before taking him to Paolo Chokchai Hospital. Villagers in the area were asked and they said that they saw the car drive out of the alley towards Lat Phrao Road at high speed before losing control and crashing into an electric pole, causing it to collapse. The electric wires also pulled down more than 10 other poles, causing villagers in the area to suffer without electricity and have difficulty using the road to enter or exit the alley.
