The Minister of Interior visited the area to follow up on the construction of knockdown houses for flood victims in Chiang Rai and listened to problems and suggestions regarding post-flood rehabilitation. Ms. Thirat Rattanasri, Deputy Minister of Interior, as the Chairwoman of the Working Group of the Flood, Storm and Landslide Relief Operation Center (Front Operation Center), inspected the progress of the construction of knockdown houses for flood victims at Baan Karen Ruammit, Mae Yao Subdistrict, Mueang Chiang Rai District, Chiang Rai Province after floods in the area damaged many houses. Mr. Sahat Wongskulwiwat, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM), Mr. Damrongsak Yodthongdee, Deputy Governor of Chiang Rai Province, and Mr. Phatsapong Jaiklaengklaew, Commander of Chiang Rai Central Prison also attended the event. During this field visit, Ms. Thirat received coordination from Pol. Col. Thawee Sodsong, Minister of Justice, who gave importance to monitorin g the construction of knockdown houses to urgently help flood victims. The construction of these knock-down houses is part of a rehabilitation plan supported by the government, especially the coordination between the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Justice, as well as local agencies, to help people return to safe housing as soon as possible. During the visit, Ms. Thirat met with the villagers and listened to their problems and suggestions regarding post-flood recovery, emphasizing the importance of working together to ensure the most efficient and rapid assistance. Ms. Thirat also visited and gave encouragement to the Housewives Association of the Ministry of Interior who were preparing food to help flood victims at the kitchen of the Vocational College, Mueang Chiang Rai District, Chiang Rai Province. She praised and thanked the members of the Housewives Association of the Ministry of Interior for their determination and sacrifice in preparing food to give to flood victims. She also emphasized th e importance of cooperation in rehabilitating affected communities and creating hope for victims to return to normal life. Source: Thai News Agency
