The Cabinet also approved a ministerial regulation stipulating that flat steel products coated with galvani zed iron by the electroplating process must comply with the standard. Since flat steel coated with galvanized iron by the electroplating process is currently widely used, the standard number TIS 2223-2565 has been set according to the Ministry of Industry Announcement No. 2275 (B.E. 2566) which will be effective after 180 days from the date of announcement in the Government Gazette onwards. 'Specifying that flat steel products coated with galvanized iron by the electrochemical process covers hot rolled and cold rolled flat steel coated with galvanized iron on one or both sides by the electrochemical process for use in making electrical appliances, automotive parts, etc. It is widely used and therefore must be controlled to meet standards to protect consumers,' said Mr. Karam.
