Taiwan Extends Airport Voucher Program for Transit Passengers to 2028

Taipei:Taiwan's Tourism Administration has announced the extension of its NT$600 (US$18.30) gift voucher program for foreign transit passengers at Taoyuan International Airport through the end of 2028.

According to Focus Taiwan, the voucher program, initially slated to operate from November 1, 2025, to October 31, 2026, has been prolonged until December 31, 2028, or until the allocated funds are depleted.

The extension aims to encourage transit passengers to enter the country and spend at the airport, aligning with the expected completion of Terminal 3 by the end of 2027. The initial funding for the program was NT$22 million, sufficient for approximately 36,666 vouchers. As of October 31, 33,525 vouchers had been distributed, with the remaining expected to run out by the end of November.

To ensure the program's continuity, the administration plans to print an additional 40,000 vouchers, with distribution subject to demand. Launched on November 1, 2025, the "Enter Taiwan, Enjoy a Gift!" initiative offers NT$600 vouchers to passengers holding non-ROC passports who transit through Taoyuan International Airport for up to 24 hours.

Eligible travelers must register on the campaign website and present their passports and boarding passes for connecting flights to collect the vouchers at the Tourism Administration's Visitor Service Centers upon arrival. The vouchers are redeemable at various airport businesses, including restaurants, duty-free stores, and souvenir shops, with a list of participating businesses available online.

Taoyuan International Airport, as Taiwan's primary international gateway, accommodated 6.69 million transit passengers in 2025, According to Taoyuan International Airport Corp.
